LifeRing’s Candice S. invites us to Dr. Peg O’Connor’s lecture.  Maybe it sounds a bit esoteric for those of us who didn’t major in philosophy.  Candice tells me it will be entertaining.  And I think we’ve all heard some entertaining stories from and about addicts.

The CU Denver Department of Philosophy is thrilled to invite you to our Annual Honi Haber Memorial Lecture!  We have been excited to share information about our upcoming event hosting Dr. Peg O’Connor.

Dr. O’Connor is Chair of the Philosophy Department of Gustavus Adolphus College. She has written several essays that interrogate the mind/body dualism from the perspectives of abuse and trauma survivors. Some of her other recent work brings philosophical insights to issues of addiction and recovery.  Her recent book is titled, Life on the Rocks: Finding Meaning in Addiction and Recovery and she has a blog with Psychology Today titled, “Philosophy Stirred, Not Shaken.”

We are hosting a reception after the lecture.  Please join us afterward!

This event will take place in the Terrace Room (2nd Floor ) in the Lawrence Street Center:

1380 Lawrence St., Denver, CO 80204
